Annika Beinnes

The young Norwegian soprano Annika Beinnes sings the role as Yniold, in the opera Pelléas and Mélisande by Debussy autumn 2025 here in Bergen.

Soprano Annika Beinnes (born February 2000) is from Vadheim in Sogn in Norway.

In 2014 she won the 1st prize in the Youth Music Championship in Bergen, and the following year she sang with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. She has sung at BNO's OperaPub several times, and also participated in our Mimi Goes Glamping festival in Sunnfjord. In BNO's series Opera at the Library in 2019, she was one of the selected soloist, together with pianists Tor Erik Seime Pettersen and Kei Solvang. (See photos below.)

Autumn 2020 she was the soloist at Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra's family concert about Beethoven, before she sang Mozart at our Afternoon Tea-event, which was the sweet finale of Operafest at Terminus.

In April 2023 she was one of the five young artists selected to sing with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra at "De unges konsert", in addition to receiving a scholarship (NOK 30.000) from the Grieg Foundation. She also won the audience award.

Summer 2022 she sang the role as Lauretta in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi at our Summer Academy Opera by the Fjord, and the next summer (2023) she was Adele in highlights from Die Fledermaus there.Spring 2024 she made her professional opera debut as Adele – alias the au pair Imelda – in our new twist on Die Fledermaus in Grieghallen. Autumn 2024 she sang the role as Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro at The Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen.

Education: Annika Beinnes was a student at the music department at Langhaugen upper secondary school in Bergen, at the same time as she was part of the national talent development program GUT, the Grieg Academy's Young Talents. Autumn 2019 she started at the Grieg Academy here in Bergen, and 2021/22 she studied at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. Spring 2023 she finished her bachelor degree here in Bergen,and since autumn 2023 she is a master student at The Royal Danish Opera Academy in Copenhagen. From season 2025/25 she will take part in the Young Artists Programme (YAP) upcoming season in collaboration with The Royal Theatre in Copenhagen.

Opera at Terminus

After several highly successful events at Bergen ́s most historic hotel, BNO and De Bergenske have created a mini 3 day-festival for October. Three young, Norwegian artists are the chosen ones this year: Bror Magnus Tødenes, Astrid Nordstad and Annika Beinnes.
