Oxana Shilova
The award-winning soprano Oxana Shilova was shining as the Golden Cockerel here in Bergen in 2014, and at the Mariinsky-theatre, Violetta is one of her signature roles.
The soprana Oxana Shilova was born in the city of Almalyk in Uzbekistan, and has studied at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory entering with the highest grades. She is now a leading soprano soloist of the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg.
She is the winner of numerous international music competitions, including Stanislaw Moniuszko International Competition in 2007, and has performed on the international stages including the Opéra de Lyon, Toulouse and Marseilles, De Nederlandse Opera and Metropolitan Opera. Her signature roles include Violetta in La Traviata, Madame Cortese in Il viaggio a Reims and Mrs. Alice Ford in Falstaff.
The season 2018/19 Shilova continued to sing Violetta at the Mariinsky and Bolshoi theaters, Mrs. Alice Ford, Madame Cortese and Donna Anna at her home stage in St. Petersburg.
