Peter Lodahl
Season 2021/22 Peter Lodahl sings the role as Danilo in The Merry Widow 2.0 both at The Royal Theater in Copenhagen – and here in Bergen.
The Danish lyrical tenor Peter Lodahl studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus and at the Opera Academy in Copenhagen. Upon completion of his vocal education he took on his first engagement at the Opera house of Kiel where his first roles included Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Percy in Anna Bolena and Cassio in Otello.
Lodahl then moved on to the Komische Oper in Berlin to expand his repertory by parts such as Rodolfo in La bohème, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Almaviva in Il barbiere di Sivigla and Renaud in Glucks Armide.
In 2009 he joined the ensemble of the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen. He has also visited renowned opera houses like the Staatsoper Berlin (as Tamino), Hamburgs State Opera (as Don Ottavio) and Komische Oper Berlin (as Rodolfo in La bohème).
Since autumn 2019 Peter Lodahl is also the musical director of Copenhagen Phil, after three years as festival director of CPH Opera Festival.
Season 2021/22 Peter Lodahl sings the role as Danilo in The Merry Widow 2.0 both at The Royal Theater in Copenhagen – and here in Bergen. He also sings operetta-hits at Den Nationale Scene and in Bekkjarvik autumn 2021.
Autumn 2022 he is Canio in the double thriller La Vendetta (Hamerik)/I Pagliacci (Leoncavallo) at Den Jyske Opera (The Danish National Opera in Aarhus).
