James Baillieu

Born in South Africa, James Baillieu studied at the University of Cape Town and the Royal Academy of Music in London.

An accomplished chamber musician, soloist and accompanist, he collaborates with singers and instrumentalists including Sir Thomas Allen, Dame Kiri te Kanawa, Ian Bostridge, Henk Neven, Markus Werba and Catherine Wyn Rogers. Venues include Wigmore Hall, Berlin Konzerthaus, Vienna Musikverein, Bergen International Festival, Verbier and Aix-en-Provence Festivals.

James Baillieu has been the prize-winner of the Wigmore Hall Song Competition, Das Lied International Song Competition, Kathleen Ferrier and Richard Tauber Competitions. In 2016 he was shortlisted for the Royal Philharmonic Society Outstanding Young Artist Award.
