Elisabeth Ivarsflaten
Elisabeth Ivarsflaten is a Professor at the Department of Comparative Politics at the University of Bergen. She is Scientific Director of the Digital Social Science Core Facility (DIGSSCORE) and initiator of the Norwegian Citizen Panel at the University of Bergen.
Ivarsflaten specialises in the study of public opinion and political parties. Much of her research, teaching and writing examines far right parties and their voters. Several of her recent papers have turned to also investigating inclusionary attitudes, in particular, motivation to control prejudice.
She has also been engaged for many years in the development and application of innovative survey research. Her research has appeared in journals such as the American Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies, the British Journal of Political Science, and the European Journal of Political Research.
Ivarsflaten received a B.A. from Columbia University (2002), and M.Phil (2002) and D.Phil (2006) from the University of Oxford. Before joining the University of Bergen, she was Postdoctorial Prize Research Fellow at Nuffield College, The University of Oxford. From 2009 to 2013 she also served as the Deputy Head of Department in the Department of Comparative Politics at the University of Bergen.
