David Curry
David Curry has charmed the audience as the cunning Italian barber Pirelli in Paris, San Francisco and Vancouver. Autumn 2019 he is ready to meet up with Sweeney Todd in Bergen!
The tenor David Curry has a wide and varied repertoire that includes opera, operetta and musical theatre. Born in Canada and trained in London he has carved out a career that spans the globe.
Over the recent years, his tremendous success at Théâtre du Châtelet in roles like Tony in West Side Story, Pirelli in Sweeney Todd and Enoch Snow in Carousel has made him a favourite musical artist with the Parisian audiences. David also reprised his role of Pirelli from Chatelet for San Francisco Opera, and also creating the role for Vancouver Opera.
In Bergen, David Curry has earlier appeared in the title role of The Tales of Hoffmann in 2011, as Flute in A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 2015 - and lately as all of the three scoundrels in Bernstein's Candide autumn 2018: Governor, Vanderdendur and Ragotski.
