Øyvind Mæland

Øyind Mæland (b. 1985) studied piano at The Barrat Due Institute of Music under Jiri Hlinka, and composition at The Norwegian Academy of Music under Olav Anton Thommessen, Ivar Frounberg and Henrik Hellstenius. His output is dominated by chamber works, and he has collaborated with ensembles like Oslo String Quartet, Kairos Quartet, Aksiom, BIT20 Ensemble and Oslo Sinfonietta. His music has been performed at several festivals, such as Ultima, Borealis and Oslo Chamber Music Festival. In 2013, his opera, Ad undas – Solaris Korrigert, was premiered at The Norwegian National Opera & Ballett. A number of Øyvind Mæland’s works are recorded on CD under the labels of Lawo, Fabra and Geiger.
