Frode Skag Storheim
Frode Skag Storheim is pianist and musical guide at the concert Triple Rossini in December.
The Norwegian pianist Frode Skag Storheim is from Radøy in Nordhordland, but has lived in Bergen since 2010. He studied at the Grieg Academy in Bergen, first with Audun Kayser as professor, and then with Jan Hovden. He graduated with a master in piano in 2016. He also studied organ playing for two years, with Stig Wernø Holter.
He has worked as a pianist/repetiteur at Bergen National Opera, Den Nationale Scene, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and Sjøforsvarets Musikkorps (Norwegian Army Band, Western Norway). He has also worked as a pianist and organist for choruses like Ole Bull Kammerkor, Sankta Sunniva Kammerkor, Seim Songkor, Korall, Multa Paucis and several more.
He has performed as a soloist with ensembles like Universitetets Symfoniorkester in Bergen, Bergen unge kammerorkester and the brass band Eikanger-Bjørsvik Musikklag. He is also active as concert host – and lectures music.
He has also worked as an opera pedagogue at Bergen National Opera, for projects and performances for high schools in the region.
Last autumn (2022) he was pianist and musical guide for our concert "Triple Mozart" at Den Nationale Scene, and in December he is joining "Triple Rossini" together with this year's young opera talents.
Since 2022 Skag Storheim is writing the brochure texts for Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, and is also working on a biography about the painter Hans Dahl.
