Eun Sun Kim

Eun Sun Kim studied composition and conducting in Seoul and continued her training in Stuttgart where she graduated with distinction. Immediately after graduation she was awarded First Prize at the “International Jesús López Cobos Opera Conducting Competition” and worked as assistant conductor at the Teatro Real in Madrid from autumn 2008 until summer 2010. Since her memorable visit to Bergen in 2016 for Madama Butterfly, her engagements include Il barbiere di Siviglia in Stockholm, Carmen in Oslo, La traviata and Ariadne auf Naxos in Berlin, and Lucia di Lammermoor in Cologne. Spring 2018 she conducted The Flying Dutchman at Bergen National Opera.
