Christian Valle
The young Norwegian bass-baritone Christian Valle sings Publio, responsible for emperor Tito's security when Sesto attacks, in our new production of Mozart's La clemenza di Tito spring 2021.
In 2016 Christian worked with Sir Simon Rattle and the London Symphony Orchestra, performing the role of Elder Brother in the world premiere of Sir Peter Maxwell-Davies’ final opera The Hogboon. He worked again with Rattle and the LSO in 2017 performing Ruffiack in Ligeti’s Le grand macabre directed by Peter Sellars.
In 2017 he also made his professional debut at Garsington Opera singing the High Priest in Semele, he also performed in the chorus and covered Arkel in Pelléas et Mélisande. Recent concert work includes Brahms Requiem and Händel’s Messiah. Other concert repertoire includes Bach’s St John Passion, Puccini’s Messa di Gloria and Brahms' Liebeslieder.
Christian was awarded the Ingrid Bjoner award as best Norwegian singer in Queen Sonja International Music Competition 2017. Autumn 2018 he was Surin in Pique Dame at Norwegian National Opera and Ballet.
Spring 2019 Valle sang Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Guildhall School, and in the summer he was a member of the Glyndebourne Opera Chorus at the festival there.
Autumn 2019 Valle joined the Opera Studio at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich for the seasons 19/20 and 20/21, and from the 2021/22 season he will be a part of the ensemble of Konzert Theater Bern.
