Victoria Bomann-Larsen
Victoria Bomann-Larsen is back as stage director for Amahl and the Night Visitors in December.
Victoria Bomann-Larsen works as a stage director at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet (DNO&B) in Oslo. She started her carriere as a assistant stage director at the Mainfranentheater in Würzburg in Germany in 2006 where she had her debut as a stage director for the children's opera Der unglaubliche Spotz in 2009.
In 2010 she started at DNO&B where she has been permanent employed since 2013. She has assisted about 25 stage directors in about 35 productions, and has revived a large number of productions by internationally renowned stage directors like Christof Loy, Tatjana Gürbaca and Calixto Bieito. She has also directed stage productions and concerts at DNO&B, like Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde. She has also been engaged for others than DNO&B, like Bluebeard's Castle (Ridder blåskjegg) for Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, La Rondine for Lidal North and Cosi fan tutte at Oslo National Academy of the Arts (Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo – KHiO).
In 2012 Bomann-Larsen was one of the founders of Femte Rad Produksjoner which initiated and produced the youth opera Simon by Gerhard Stäbler and Christopher Grøndahl. This opera received economical support from Fond for Utøvende Kunstnere (FFUK) and Kulturrådet and had its world premiere at DNO&B in 2015 and was later revived in collaboration with DNO&B and The Cultural Schoolbag (Den Kulturelle Skolesekken). Bomann-Larsen was producer as well as stage director for this opera.
Since 2016 she also has been engaged at The Academy of Opera (Operahøgskolen) at KHiO where she has directed, lectured and has been a sensor for master thesises.
Victoria Bomann-Larsen was stage director when we staged Amahl and The Night Visitors for the first time in December 2022, og this year she returns to Bergen, with a new boy soprano in the title role as Amahl in December.
