Stasa Zurovac
Award winning choreographer Stasa Zurovac is movement director for our Macbeth in Bergen, autumn 2020.
Choreographer, author and director Stasa Zurovac was born in Zagreb, where he also received his studies in ballet. He also studied at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg. He was principal dancer at the National Theater in his hometown. Since 2003 Zurovac has worked as a choreographer and author for the national theatres and theatres in Zagreb, Ljubljana, Belgrade, Split, Rijeka, Novi Sad, Lisbon, Arnhem, Skopje, Darmstadt, etc.
From 2003 till 2012 he was the Artistic Director of the Ballet of the Croatian National Theater Ivan pl. Zajc in Rijeka in Croatia. In 2010 he joined the artistic team of Ulysses Theater in Croatia, where Lenka Udovicki is the artistic director. His first production as a choreographer there was The Tempest by Shakespeare. In 2014 he directed and choreographed the main production of the Ulysses Theater season “The Funeral in Theresienburg”. From 2018 till 2019 he worked as a Rehearsal Director at Landestheater/Musiktheater Linz in Austria. At the moment he is a freelance artist.
