Ingvild Schultze-Florey
She was a finalist in the Strauss Prize 2018 and winner of the Alexander Young Prize 2016.
Mezzo-soprano Ingvild Schultze-Florey from Bergen is a Master student at Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, on a full scholarship from Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. She has sung Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and at RNCM Mrs. Hildebrand in Weill’s Street Scene and Sprite in Massenet’s Cendrillon to name a few. She was a finalist in the Strauss Prize 2018 and winner of the Alexander Young Prize 2016.
Schultze-Florey has been on BNO’s/Edvard Grieg Choir's talent program Unge Stemmer since 2013, and in 2015 BNO commissioned the chamber opera Nadja’s Song by Lucy Armstrong for her. It premiered in Bergen before its UK premiere at Tête à Tête in London. Autumn 2018 she was Mercedes in BNO's chamber version of Carmen on tour, and spring 2019 she was selected as one of the five soloists for De Unges Konsert (Young Soloists Competition) to perform with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra in April.
