Gunda-Marie Bruce

Gunda-Marie Bruce studied at Barratt Due Institute of Music, The Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, and The University College of Opera (Operahögskolan) in Stockholm.
She has performed as a soloist on renowned venues such as The Royal Swedish Opera (Den Kungliga Opera) in Stockholm, Drottningholm Palace Theatre and Vadstena Castle.
Some of her roles have been as Adele in Die Fledermaus by Strauss, Sister Constance in the opera Dialogues des Carmelites by Poulence and Mor Sol (Mother Sun) in the outdoor production Bronsebukkene by Gisle Kverndokk – and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini.
Autumn 2018 she performed as Musetta in La bohème at Opera Nordfjord, before she was Leila in Les pêcheurs de perles by Bizet at RingsakerOperaen. Summer 2019 she sang the title role as Hanna Glawari alias Hanna Gladvangen in a local version of the operetta The Merry Widow at Opera di Setra in Nord-Østerdalen in Norway.
Gunda-Marie Bruce is also often asked to perform church music, and has among others been a soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Haydn, Orff’s Carmina Burana, and Stabat Mater by Pergolesi as well as Szymanowski.
Her first visit at Bergen National Opera was as Chocholka in The cunning little vixen by Janáček spring 2013.
