Frøy Hovland Holtbakk
The young Norwegian soprano Frøy Hovland Holtbakk is the courageous woman Servilia, who choses her secret lover Annio (Ingeborg Gillebo) instead of the emperor, in Mozart's opera La clemenza di Tito, premiered in Bergen March 2021.
Frøy Hovland Holtbakk is a Norwegian lyric coloratura soprano from Skurdalen, a small village nearby Hardangervidda. She has har Bachelor from Barratt Due Music Institute in Oslo, and in 2019 she finished her studies at The Royal Danish Opera Academy.
Still a student, Frøy made her debut as Papagena in The Magic Flute at The Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen, and returned as Frasquite in Carmen, Ida in Die Fledermaus and as Flower Maiden in Parsifal. In 2020 she made her debut in Germany singing Frasquita at Oper Frankfurt.
Season 2020/21 Frøy was a member of the Young Artists-ensemble at OperetteKompagniet in Copenhagen, and season 2021/22 she is a member of the Norwegian National Opera young artist program at the Norwegian Opera and Ballet (DNO&B),
