Private View på Borealis
Hitchcock's innovative symbolism in award-winning opera.
One of the most successful new operas in Europe in the last two years, Private View began with a collaboration between Bergen National Opera and Muziektheater Transparant (Antwerp).
Bergen National Opera introduced Belgian composer Annelies Van Parys to Shetland-based poet Jen Hadfield at one of BNO/ AdOpera's development academies. The result was an astonishing chamber opera based on Hitchcock's Rear Window. Private View has won three major awards including the prestigeous Fedora Prize for new opera.
