Our new opera Mrs Mozart looks at composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart through the eyes of his wife Constanza - his muse and herself a celebrated soprano.

But the Mozarts also had a large extended family - lots of small children and troublesome and ambitious in-laws. So while Constanza was trying to practise her husband's latest aria, she was also trying to bath the baby, iron Mozart's shirts and deal with his father banging on the door. Salzburg was a tricky city, fraught with jealous artists, patrons arguing about the music and over-worked musicians - and the Mozart's debtors had a nasty habit of turning up on the doorstep….

Bergen National Opera and director Tom Guthrie have created an engaging, touching story to introduce a wide audience to opera, and to the day-to-day life of a composer.

Mrs Mozart premieres at Larvik Barokk and at Mimì Goes Glamping, before touring on the west coast of Norway in Autumn 2016.
