Peter Kirk
- The British tenor Peter Kirk is the discovery of the evening, he sings his part as if he gave his life for it. (Mein Bezirk at the Grafenegg-festival.)
The British tenor Peter Kirk studied at the University of Wales, the Royal College of Music International Opera School (graduating with the Eric Shilling Prize for Opera), and on l’Opéra national du Rhin’s Young Artist’s Programme where he performed Pasek in The Cunning Little Vixen among other roles. Kirk made his Royal Opera (Covent Garden) debut in 2015 to critical acclaim as Chulak in the fairytale opera The Firework-Maker’s Daughter.
Two of his signatur roles are Lysander in Britten’s A Midsummer Night's Dream and Almaviva in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Spring 2019 he toured as Mr. Erlanson in A Little Night Music by Sondheim with the Nederlandse Reisopera, and in December he will sing Charlie Dalrymple in the musical Brigadoon at the Volksoper in Vienna.
The role as Pirelli's young apprentice Tobias Rogg in Sweeney Todd marks his first visit at Bergen National Opera.
