Neal Davies
As Swallow in Peter Grimes autumn 2019 the bass-baritone Neal Davies visits Bergen National Opera for the first time.
British bass-baritone Neal Davis studied at King's College, London and the Royal Academy of Music, and won the Lieder Prize at the 1991 Cardiff Singer of the World Competition. His long and outstanding career has brought him to prestigious houses like the Royal Opera House, Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin, Opera di Roma and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
Recent highlights are Bass/King Arthur, Garibaldo/Rodelinda and Le Christ/La Passion selon Saint Jean, to mention a few. His discography includes Messiah, Theodora, Creation (Gramophone Award 2008), Jenufa, Vanessa and Billy Budd (Grammy Award 2010). The role of Swallow marks his debut with Bergen National Opera.
