Mark Stone

Mark Stone is an English heldenbaritone who studied singing at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He made his professional debut after receiving the Decca Prize at the Kathleen Ferrier Awards in 1998.

Stone has enjoyed an extensive international career, performing at venues including the Royal Opera House, Hamburg State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Santa Fe Opera and Opera Philadelphia. He is particularly acclaimed for his Wagnerian roles, including Alberich, Siegfried, Wotan and Gunther, while also making a strong mark in contemporary opera.

In Norway, he is known for his portrayal of the title role in The Flying Dutchman with Trondheim Symphony Orchestra & Opera and Kilden Opera in Kristiansand last season. Mark Stone makes his house debut at Bergen National Opera as The Protector.
