Kristofer Lundin

Swedish tenor Kristofer Lundin was a classical guitar player and composer before he studied at Stockholm’s University College of Opera (Operahögskolan). He was formerly a member of the Inter­national Opera Studio in Zurich, and also of the Académie du Festival d’Aix-en-Provence.

From 2014 to 2016 he sang at Salzburger Landestheater in roles like Tamino in The Magic Flute, Jaquino in Fidelio and Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni. He made his Salzburg Festival debut at Whitsun 2017 as Odoardo in Ariodante by Händel, and also in August the same year, with Cecilia Bartoli in the title role.

At Opernhaus Zürich summer 2018 he sang the role as Liberta, in Monteverdi's opera The Coronation of Poppea (L’incoronazione di Poppea), directed by Calixto Bieito.

Lundin has performed as a soloist at several renowned opera houses like Opéra de Lyon, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris and Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. Spring 2023 he was Prologue and Peter Quint in Britten's The Turn of the Screw at Folkoperan in Stockholm.

This summer (2024) he sang Prince Yamadori in Madama Butterfly at the Festival d'Aix en Provence.
