Kasper Holten
The Danish director Kasper Holten gives us The Merry Widow 2.0 spring 2022, in collaboration with Anna Schulin-Zeuthen.
As an autodidact stage director, Kasper Holten is unique. He has staged more than 75 operas, theatre plays and musicals all over Europe, and in USA, Russia, Israel, Australia, Argentine, China and Japan. He has worked in the most prestigeous opera houses like Wiener Staatsoper, Royal Opera House in London, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro alla Scala in Milan and Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires.
As the youngest artistic director ever at the Royal Danish Opera during the years 2000-2011, he staged Wagner's Ring to great international and critical acclaim. From 2011 to 2016 he held the position as Artistic Director of the Royal Opera House in London, and since 2018 he been appointed General Director at the Royal Danish Theatre. Kaspen Holten has been knighted by Queen Margrethe II for his artistic merits.
