Igor Bakan

The last time Igor Balkan performed at Bergen National Opera was in the role as Masetto in Don Giovanni in 2015.

The bass-baritone Igor Bakan graduated from Klaipeda University in Lithuania. During the 2008/09 season he was a member of the Opera Studio at Bayerische Staatsoper, then an ensemble member at Vlaamse Opera, before he joined the Junges Ensemble at Theater an der Wien in 2012.

During the 2016/17 season, Bakan made his debut in the title role in Le Nozze di Figaro at Malmö Opera, and in 2018 Igor Bakan returned to Malmö as Monterone in Rigoletto. He made his Tonkünstler Orchester debut in April 2018 with Beethoven’s 9th symphony.
