Iain Paterson

Iain Patterson's impressive figure and powerful voice makes him ideal for the wagnerian repertoire.

Iain Paterson studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, before entering the ensemble at English National Opera in London. In the last years, Kurwenal/Tristan und Isolde in Munich, Wotan/Siegfried in Houston, Hans Sachs/Die Meistersinger in London and Fasolt/Das Rheingold at La Scala in Milan stand as highlights. Every year since 2015, he has sung at Bayreuther Festspiele as Kurwenal and Wotan.

In 2013, he sang an unforgettable Forester/The Cunning Little Vixen at Bergen National Opera, and the titlerole in The Flying Dutchman marks his second visit here.
