Erik Wahlgren
Cellist Erik Wahlgren visits Opera by the Fjord for the first time in 2024, to teach and be the section leader for the cello students in this years academy orchestra.
The Swedisch cellist Erik Wahlgren has studied at The Royal College of Music (Musikhögskolan) in Stockholm, the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and at Edsbergs Musikinstitut – and is now solo cellist in the Royal Swedish Opera Orchestra (Kungliga Hovkapellet) in Stockholm.
Wahlgren is an active performer at different festival and concert series in Sweden as well as abroad, an has also been a soloist, with conductors like Okko Kamu, Anthony Halstead, Paul Mägi and Andrew Litton.
Wahlgren has worked for Norrbotten Neo and Uppsala kammarsolister, and is also playing a baroque cello, like in his own Ensemble Klärobskyr and in Drottningholms barockensemble.
Erik Wahlgren is also a member of Vamlingbokvartetten.
