He has played the Prince at The Metropolitan Opera i New York as well as at Wiener Staatsoper. Spring 2023 American tenor Brandon Jovanovich comes to Bergen as Rusalka's fatal love.
American tenor Brandon Jovanovich is from Billings, Montana. In 2010 he made his house debut at The Metropolitan Opera in New York as Don José in Carmen, and has since then sung several roles there, among others as the Prince in Rusalka, conducted by Sir Mark Elder. He has also performed as the Prince at San Francisco Opera, the Glyndebourne and at Wiener Staatsoper.
Season 2019/2020 he made his role debut as Canio in Robert Carsen's new version of Pagliacci at the Dutch National Opera. Autumn 2022 he was Sergei at the The Metropolitan, in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk by Shostakowitch. He also joined Lise Davidsen (as Giorgetta) in the role as Luigi in Il tabarro / The Cloak by Puccini in November and December 2022 at the Liceu-opera in Barcelona.
And before he arrives in Bergen spring 2023 he sings Florestan in Beethoven's opera Fidelio at Wiener Staatsoper. Autumn 2023 he will sing the title role in Peter Grimes at Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
