Ante Jerkunica

Bass Ante Jerkunica is from Split in Croatia. He sung the role as Vodník in Rusalka also at Oper Köln. He has performed as Osmin in Mozart's The Abduction from the Seraglio (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) at the operas in Munich, Hamburg as well as Zürich. Jerkunica is also known for his interpretation of Sarastro in The Magic Flute, at the opera in Hamburg among others.

Season 2021/22 he made his house debut at The Metropolitan Opera in New York as Sparafucile in Verdi's Rigoletto, conducted by Karen Kamensek.

Season 2022/23 he sings the rol as Rocco in Beethoven's opera Fidelio at Deutsche Oper in Berlin, and this spring (2023) also Jacobo Fiesco i Verdi1s Simon Boccanegra at the same opera house. After his interpretation of Vodník in Rusalka here in Bergen i March, he will go to Opéra National du Rhin to sing the title role in The Tale of Tsar Saltan by Rimsky-Korsakov.
