Stuart Skelton

Named Male Singer of the Year at the 2014 International Opera Awards, Stuart Skelton is one of the finest heldentenors on the stage today.

The tenor is critically acclaimed for his outstanding musicianship, tonal beauty, and intensely dramatic portrayals. Last season, he sang Tristan/Tristan und Isolde at The Metropolitan Opera in New York, the title role/Lohengrin at Opéra National de Paris, Laca/Jenufa at Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, in addition to the title role/Peter Grimes at Bergen National Opera. He sings regularly under conductors like Gergiev, Rattle, Pappano, Jordan and Gardner. Amongst his many recordings, The Dream of Gerontius with Sir Andrew Davis/BBC Symphony Orchestra and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony/Scottish Chamber Orchestra stand out.
