Randi Stene

Randi Stene has been a regular guest at The Met in New York, Covent Garden in London and Bastille in Paris. Autumn 2019 she will sing The Beggar Woman in our Sweeney Todd.

Norwegian mezzo soprano Randi Stene trained at Norwegian State Academy of Music and at The Royal Opera Academy in Copenhagen. In 1988 she made her debut as 3rd Boy in The Magic Flute at the opera in Copenhagen. She had her international debut in 1993 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris as Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier. Recent highlights include Magdelone/Maskarade and Herodias in Salome in Copenhagen, as well as Fricka in Die Walküre at Den Ny Opera in Esbjerg. Stene is now also Artistic Director at Trondheim Symfoniorkester & Opera. Her first appearance at Bergen National Bergen was as the Old Lady in Candide autumn 2018.
