Anton Ljungqvist

Anton Ljungqvist has received Joel Berglund’s stipend and The Royal Swedish Academy of Music’s stipend.

Swedish bass-baritone Anton Ljungqvist passed his final exam at The University College of Opera in Stockholm in 2011. He is a sought-after young singer at the Swedish operahouses, and last season he sang Eisenstein/Die Fledermaus at Wermland Opera in Karlstad. Other highlights are Doctor Grenvil/Die Fledermaus in Gothenborg, Sharpless/Madama Butterfly at Folkoperan, Zuniga/Carmen in Malmö and the titlerole/Le nozze di Figaro and Figaro/Barber in Seville in Karlstad. Anton Ljungqvist is also an accomplished concert singer, notably the solo part in the requiems by Mozart, Brahms and Fauré. As a guest at Bergen National Opera, he has sung Dandini/Cinderella and The Father/All about my family.
