Álvaro Zambrano

Zambrano has received a sholarship from Helene Rosenberg Foundation and an award from Commerzbank Foundation’s Gustav Scheck Competition.

The Chilean tenor Álvaro Zambrano studied singing at Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, and later at the Musikhochschule Freiburg in Germany. Between 2012-2016 he was was a member of the Ensemble at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where he made successful debuts as Tamino/Die Zauberflöte, Nemorino/L‘elisir d’amore and Fenton/Falstaff. Summer 2018 Zambrano was The prince in Lulu by Alban Berg at Oper Leipzig. Álvaro Zambrano has visited Bergen National Opera several times, like as Albazar/Il turno in Italia spring 2017 and as Don José in the chamber version of Carmen on tour autumn 2018.
