Bergen National Opera

'Since Mary Miller took over the helm of BNO, the company has developed a well-deserved reputation for its world-class productions.' - Classical Music Magazine

Bergen National Opera, based in the picturesque city of Bergen on the West Coast of Norway, is firmly established as a major contributor to world-class opera in the country. As a flexible and adventurous company working with highly imaginative creative teams, BNO brings fresh eyes and ears to standard repertoires. We also premiere great international operas previously unperformed in Norway, along with a startling range of new projects that appeal to all ages.

Our casts combine dynamic young Nordic voices with celebrated international talents, and we are deeply committed to developing competence in all aspects of opera for the future. With the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra as our principal partner, BNO is increasingly attracting glowing media attention, and praise for its exciting programmes.
